Our focus is on bringing our mind and body approaches together, with an awareness that massage or bodywork in combination with talking therapy provides a uniquely personal service. All services can be accessed independently or together, according to your unique needs.

Any profits we make through our one to one sessions, workshops and study days go into our charity ‘The Birth & Wellbeing Fund’.

We recognise that your personal experiences and history are subjective and unique to you. We provide a free consultation in order to work with you & your own needs, to creating your own bespoke plan of care.

You may choose to use each of our services independently. Some prefer massage as they are not yet ready to talk, or they have unique physical and emotional stress to address. Others recognise that the short and long term support that counselling offers, provides a deep and personal space in which to explore your feelings through the often difficult and challenging times of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. We support both women and their partners.

We also have midwives who can support you with massage for fertility, acupuncture & hypnobirthing.

staff wellbeingWe support staff who work within maternity services with a number of work and personal issues.

“… common mental health problems and musculoskeletal disorders are the major cause of sickness, absence and worklessness due to ill health…” (Black, 2008).

Well supported, healthy staff provide better care, feel more satisfied with work and home life and therefore feel happier.

Claire has already developed a Staff Wellbeing Service within North Bristol Trust’s Directorate of Women & Children’s Health, where a recent survey indicated that 68% of those using the service found it prevented them from taking time off, 100% would recommend the service to a colleague and 95% stated that accessing this kind of service improved their working life in some way. Like us, the service at NBT offers a combination of physical and psychological wellbeing support, and many staff have positively commented on the benefits of this approach.

This service is open to staff from all local NHS Trust and Community services.

“I can’t thank Claire and Nicola enough for their care and support. The counselling really helped me when I was really struggling. I had this during the postnatal period. The massage I had during pregnancy and still continue to have 9 months later. It gives me time to think and have quiet time to myself. It is very relaxing and Claire is extremely welcoming and makes me feel very comfortable. I would have been lost without both of them.”

Could You Benefit From Our Support?

We’d be delighted to talk things over with you.
